Climatize at the Citizens’ Climate Lobby Summer Conference & Lobby Day

Why the conversation around permitting reform matters for the future of clean energy infrastructure

The path to a cleaner energy future is not shaped by capital alone.

It is shaped by the policies, partnerships, and decisions that determine how quickly the infrastructure we need can actually be built.

That is why we were proud to sponsor the Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL) Summer Conference & Lobby Day, held July 26-28, 2026, in Washington, D.C.

Under the theme “The Path to Clean Energy Runs Through D.C.,” the conference brought together advocates, policymakers, business leaders, and climate innovators to discuss the policies and actions needed to accelerate America's clean energy transition.

For us at Climatize, the event was an opportunity to support that work, contribute to the conversation, and engage with people working across different parts of the clean energy ecosystem.

Bringing Capital Into the Clean Energy Conversation

At Climatize, we believe expanding access to capital is an important part of accelerating climate infrastructure.

Through our Regulation Crowdfunding platform, we provide individuals access to investment opportunities in renewable energy and climate infrastructure projects.

But our experience has also reinforced something important:

Capital can only go so far if the infrastructure itself cannot get built.

Developers need to move projects through planning, permitting, financing, construction, and ultimately operation. When uncertainty or unnecessary delays arise at any stage, the timeline for bringing critical infrastructure online can become harder to predict.

That is why the conversation around permitting reform matters to us.

Will Wiseman Joins the Conversation

As part of the conference, our CEO & Co-Founder, Will Wiseman, joined the “What’s Next for Clean Energy?” panel, bringing an infrastructure investment perspective to the discussion.

One of the key issues discussed was permitting reform and its potential role in helping accelerate infrastructure development.

As Will shared during the conversation, greater certainty around permitting can help create an environment where capital is more willing and able to support infrastructure projects.

From our perspective, an effective permitting process should provide greater certainty around project timelines while remaining equitable and technology-neutral.

We need infrastructure across the energy system, and different technologies will play different roles in meeting America's evolving energy needs. Creating a predictable framework allows projects and technologies to compete while giving communities greater clarity around what is being proposed and when projects can move forward.

Why Permitting Reform Matters

Permitting is not simply a regulatory issue.

It is an infrastructure issue.

A project can have the technology, the developer, the financing, and the demand, but still face delays before construction can begin.

For the clean energy transition to happen at the speed and scale required, we need systems that allow viable infrastructure projects to move forward efficiently while maintaining appropriate environmental standards and meaningful community engagement.

CCL has made permitting reform one of its key clean energy policy priorities, advocating for reforms that can accelerate project development while maintaining environmental protections and community involvement.

That focus made the conversation particularly relevant to us.

As we work to expand access to climate infrastructure investing, we are interested not only in how capital reaches projects, but also in the broader conditions that allow those projects to become reality.

Building Across Sectors

One of the things we value about events like the CCL Summer Conference & Lobby Day is the opportunity to bring different perspectives into the same conversation.

The clean energy transition will require collaboration between policymakers, communities, developers, investors, advocates, businesses, and other stakeholders.

No single group can solve the infrastructure challenge alone.

Capital can help finance projects.

Developers can turn plans into infrastructure.

Communities can help shape how projects are developed.

And technology can provide the solutions needed to build a more resilient energy system.

The opportunity is in connecting these pieces.

Looking Beyond the Conference

Our sponsorship of the Citizens’ Climate Lobby Summer Conference & Lobby Day was more than an opportunity to put our name behind an event.

It was an opportunity to support an organization bringing people together around practical climate policy, participate in an important conversation about America's energy future, and contribute our perspective as a company working at the intersection of capital and climate infrastructure.

The question facing the clean energy transition is increasingly not whether we have technologies capable of producing and storing cleaner energy.

It is whether we can create the conditions to deploy those technologies quickly, responsibly, and at the scale required.

Permitting reform is one part of that equation.

So are investment, innovation, community engagement, and collaboration.

We are proud to support the conversations and partnerships helping move those pieces forward.

Thank you to the Citizens’ Climate Lobby team for bringing together such an engaged community of advocates, policymakers, business leaders, and climate innovators in Washington, D.C.

We were proud to be there, proud to sponsor the conversation, and proud to continue contributing to the work of building a cleaner energy future.

The path to clean energy requires more than ambition. It requires action, collaboration, and the infrastructure to make it real.
