From being the king of the world to the most outspoken environmentalist in Hollywood, Leonardo DiCaprio is more than a wealthy stock-broker. He established the Leonardo DiCaprio foundation in 1998 that focuses on alarming environmental issues. He also co-wrote and produced the 11th Hour, a documentary related to global-warming, that raised $40 Million. This documentary became the all-time highest grossing environment charity event.
Actress arrested
This insurgent American actress got arrested at a protest against the Dakota Access Pipeline. Shailene Woodley forages for food, sources her own water and makes her own cheese and soap. Woodley is an Oceans Ambassador for Greenpeace and co-founded the environmental non-profit All It Takes with her mom. She is an intersectional environmentalist and claims racism, sexism and any type of disparity or injustice cannot be addressed without looking at the whole picture
JUST Water
This American rapper has not let his famous parents overshow is young career. At the age of 11, Jaden Smith’s surf teacher taught him the ocean was alive, while his environmental teacher taught him the ocean was dying. In 2015 he founded JUST Water, a company that strives to make an alternative to petroleum-based products that require plastic and emit CO2 in production. Jaden uses his voice to amplify important social and environmental issues. His call for action: “We all have to do our part in helping the environment and giving back to the world.”
