Alex Wolowiecki

Kristine Thompson grew up in Santa Paula, California, where she befriended the legendary rock climber Yvon Chouinard. Kristine later joined his small company called, ‘Patagonia.’ Kristine became CEO of Patagonia at 28 and over 20 years she grew it into the massively successful brand and sustainable champion it is today. Kristine retired in 1993 and decided to focus on habitat restoration and nature conservation.

Her foundation spent over $325 million to purchase and restore 14 million acres of jungle and mountains in Chile & Argentina. In 2018 and 2019, Kristine completed her life’s work and donated all of the land back to the Chilean & Argentinians as national parks.

Kristine is considered one of the most successful conservational philanthropists in history.
